The temple which housed this idol must have been either swallowed by the jungles and lost forever awaiting discovery or washed away if it was located too close to the river bank. The ruins of  2nd century Gangga Negara have been found along the Perak River and its tributaries.Artifacts have been found along this river and at sites in Ipoh, Tanjung Rambutan, Sungai Siput, Dinding and Beruas.
